SEAS Student Affairs Office

The SEAS Student Affairs Office is primarily responsible for managing:

  • Student Advising and Course Planning
  • Faculty Teaching and Course Support
  • SEAS-based Student Groups and Activities
  • New Graduate Student Orientation
  • Recruitment (with FAS, GSAS)
  • Academic Coordination with the College, FAS, and GSAS
  • Graduate Admissions Coordination (with GSAS)

Community Building and Professional Development

SEAS Graduate Student Life Committee

The Graduate Student Life Committee (GSLC) at SEAS provides a way for all graduate students to become involved with the broad SEAS community. GSLC has funds from the administration that are renewed each semester.

Anyone can plan an event to use these funds, subject to approval by the students on the committee. Just submit a proposal or any other suggestions to gslc@eecs.harvard.edu.

Professional Development Seminar Series

A weekly seminar on topics (held during term-time) related to professional development for all graduate students and post-docs in SEAS. Lunch will be provided.

SEAS-related Colloquia and Seminars

List of ongoing talks bringing world-class scientists and engineers to campus in a variety of research areas.

GSAS Resources

Graduate study at Harvard is a matter of active learning in an atmosphere of intellectual excitement. There is also life outside of the lab, library, and classroom.

    Dudley House is dedicated to serving the diverse extracurricular needs of the students of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

  • GSAS Student Survival Guide
    The GSAS Student Survival Guide was written a few years ago by graduate students for entering students like you.

  • Registrar's Office
    The Registrar’s Office website will provide you with lots of useful information, including links to the course catalog and to the academic calendar.

  • GSAS Student Handbook
    The GSAS Student Handbook, which describes the regulations and rules that apply to students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, is available online at this site.
