Account Lockout Policy
In an attempt to reduce the risk of malicious parties attempting to impersonate SEAS account holders and in compliance with the University Enterprise Security Policy, SEAS Information Security Office has the following account lockout policy:
Ten (10) failed login attempts within a five (5) minute window will result in the account being locked (unusable) for a period of five (5) minutes. After the five minute lockout window, the account will automatically unlock.
This change effects all user accounts in the SEAS identity space (active directory and unix), as well as Exchange and Sharepoint.
If your account is persistently locked, please contact SEAS Computing by email: firstname.lastname@example.org, or phone: 617-495-7777.For more please see : http://security.harvard.edu/book/25-inhibit-password-guessing
