Computing Announcements


Computing@SEAS is turning off the local Accellion infrastructure and transitioning to the central university Accellion service. All users who use the Outlook plugin have been transferred to the new system as part of the email migration project. SEAS users can use the central system at by logging in with their university credentials.

As of June 1, the Accellion kite drive solution piloted by some SEAS users will no longer be available. Users are encouraged to use Microsoft One Drive, available through the university’s Office 365 subscription, or Google Drive, available through Harvard’s Security Office has certified One Drive for use with Level 4 data and Google Drive for use with Level 3 data.


Email Migration Wrap-up

The existing SEAS exchange system is offline. All users are now on the HUIT infrastructure. Migrations to Office365 comprising the second hop of the migrations is underway and expected to be completed by 10/9/2015.


Storage Migration Update

We are in the process of migrating research volumes to Research Computing.  New servers are in place and the data is being transferred. Groups will be contacted as their research is moved to schedule testing and cut-overs.


IT Summit

The CIO Council at Harvard University will host the Fifth Annual IT Summit at Harvard University on June 4, 2015. Collaborate on media at

The new Collaborators tool at allows you to grant administrative permissions to additional users so you may work together to edit, publish, and manage your videos.  Step-by-step directions on how to use this tool are posted at
