Related academic programs and courses in Electrical Engineering
Electrical engineering covers the analysis, design, and synthesis of the devices and systems that make possible modern computation, communications, and control.
In practical terms, that means everything from the fabrication of new types of lasers to the creation of biologically-inspired devices like microrobotic flies.
Research and teaching activities have a very close relation to computer science, with equal emphasis is placed on understanding hardware and building devices as on software and theory.

-
Undergraduate Programs
Undergraduates have the option of pursuing electrical engineering as part of the engineering sciences concentration (A.B.; A.B./S.M.).
-
Graduate Programs
Graduate students may work towards a Master of Science, Master of Engineering, and Doctor of Philosophy degree in one of four subjects—Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Computer Science, and Engineering Sciences—or graduate with a Ph.D. in the Science, Technology & Management program (with Harvard Business School).
