Accessing your Funds

To access Nectar funding, you must do the following:

1. Fill out a New Vendor Request form (printed forms will be available at the mandatory introductory meeting).

2. If you plan on purchasing some of your materials through the SEAS Teaching Labs, you must reserve some of your budget for Teaching Labs purchases at the start of the semester. Indicate the amount you would like to reserve on the New Vendor Request form at the introductory meeting.

3. You will receive a check with your funding by mail within a couple weeks.

During the semester

If you would like to drastically change the use of your funds during the semester, please email nectar@seas.harvard.edu and explain how the project has shifted and how you want to re-allocate your budget. We’ll discuss and approve the changes.

If you would like to purchase materials through the SEAS Teaching Labs, please contact Pete Kjeer. Please note that you also must have reserved part of your budget for Teaching Labs purchases at the start of the semester.

If you reserved your funding for Teaching Labs purchases but end up needing to make your purchases elsewhere, please email nectar@seas.harvard.edu to have your remaining funds issued to you as a check.

At the end of the semester

When using your funds, please keep records of all of your receipts. At the end of each period of funding (e.g. semesterly), you must do the following:

1. Submit an itemized Expense Report to nectar@seas.harvard.edu using the Expense Report template.

2. A scanned copy of all receipts must be submitted with the expense report. Receipts must be numbered and must correspond with the expense line in the Expense Report.

3. All unused funds must be returned when submitting the expense report. If funds are not returned then we reserve the right to add this to the student’s term bill.
