Make Noise for ES 25

This week, we join a section for Engineering the Acoustical World (ES 25) in the Active Learning Labs to play with microcontrollers! In previous weeks, sections worked on creating basic sounds, but this week students used the microcontrollers to create realistic-sounding music and sounds, like those you might find in video games. This week sets up the foundation for students to move forward with the electronics and sounds portion of the course.

ES 25 focuses on themes of music and science in an accessible way for both SEAS and non-SEAS concentrators alike. Students have the opportunity to develop tangible skills, sit in on guest lecturers and performers, and work on interesting design projects directly related to their everyday lives. On top of everything, no previous experience in physics or calculus beyond the high school level is required.
