This is a PDMS microfluidic device that makes double emulsions (drops in drops) of water-in-oil-in-water. Adjacent to the flow channel are two chambers that form a pneumatic valve. The valve is pressurized/de-pressurized to open/constrict the flow focus junction, which makes emulsions with big/small cores.
