These Monodisperse Polyacrylamide microgels were synthesized using microfluidics. One in three microgels encapsulates an E. coli bacterium, which will provide the DNA template for amplification by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Fluorescence is caused by Rhodamine staining of the microgels.
