SEAS Graduate Student Life Committee
The Graduate Student Life Committee (GSLC) at SEAS provides a way for all graduate students to become involved with the broad SEAS community. GSLC has funds from the administration that are renewed each semester.
Anyone can plan an event to use these funds, subject to approval by the students on the committee. Just submit a proposal or any other suggestions to gslc@eecs.harvard.edu.

Journal Clubs
High Performance Computing Journal Club
Are you interested in parallel computing? Working with GPUs, clusters or on our Blue Gene? We're looking to get people together that are all interested in computational science. We want to look at all different types of HPC architecture and fields where it is applied. The setup for the journal club will be to meet twice a month to discuss strong papers in the area. For the first meeting of each month we'll select a leading paper from a top conference or journal and the second meeting will focus on a paper from research completed here at Harvard.
The meetings will be held every other Monday at noon in Maxwell Dworkin 323.
If you have any questions please email Amanda Peters at apeters@fas.harvard.edu.
Harvard Energy Journal Club
We are a journal club that meets weekly with the goal of facilitating discussion and furthering our understanding of the technical details of energy technology and science. Our primary purpose is not to discuss policy issues, but rather it is to enable us to develop the necessary technical background to better understand energy issues and policy.
Our topics are included in the following broad categories:
-
Depletable Resources
(e.g. Oil, Gas, Clean Coal, Nuclear, CO2 Capture & Storage) -
Renewable Resources
(e.g. Geothermal, Wind, Solar, Hydro) -
Technology and Applications
(e.g. Energy Storage, Electric Grid, Fuel Cells)
Each week during the semester members will read and discuss a technical article relevant to the science and technology of energy. Please see our calendar for more details. The HEJC is open to members of the Harvard and MIT communities. Please contact us for more information.
