A microfluidic method was used to produce droplets containing a silica precursor, water, ethanol and a surfactant in a continuous phase of hexadecane and ABIL EM 90.
Phase separation was observed in the droplets formed from an aged
injection solution. This picture shows a fluorcence microscope image of droplets during phase separation.
