MBTA Bus Transportation

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) 86 Bus and 66 Bus connect Harvard's Cambridge and Allston campus nodes. The MBTA 70 Bus connects Allston to Watertown, Central Square, University Park, and MIT.

The MBTA is conducting the Better Bus Project as a step in evaluating and improving the transit system. Changes to the Route 70 have improved frequency and reliability between Waltham and Central Square (via Allston). The University will continue to collect transportation data to determine areas of transportation density and will share relevant information with the MBTA.

Real-time bus tracking is available through the MBTA-endorsed Transit App on your smartphone.
