Tunable metalenses

We have demonstrated an adaptive metalens whose focus, shift, and astigmatism may all be electrically controlled. These metasurface lenses, which are based on dielectric elastomers (or “artificial muscles”), present a promising new direction for ultra-thin adaptive optics.
