Squeezing light at the nanoscale

We have demonstrated deep subwavelength resonators and nano-dipole antennas for infrared light using polaritons in van der Waals materials. These structures concentrate light into volumes thousands of time smaller than the wavelength of light, paving the way to smart detectors and chemical sensors.
