Nano-optic endoscope for high-resolution optical coherence tomography

In recent published work, we have shown that a metalens may be directly integrated with an endoscope to improve the resolution of optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging of lung tissue. The metalens enables high-resolution endoscopic imaging at extended depth-of-focus by correcting for monochromatic aberrations and engineering chromatic dispersion. High-resolution three-dimensional images captured by inserting the nano-optic endoscope into the lungs endobronchially visualize airway tissue microstructures.
