Genin appointed Faught Professor of Mechanical Engineering

Guy Genin, S.M. ’93 (engineering sciences), Ph.D. ’97 (applied mechanics), has been named the inaugural Faught Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis.

Genin, who studies interfaces and adhesion in nature, physiology, and engineering, joined the faculty in 1999 and also holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Washington University School of Medicine.

The professorship was made possible through a bequest from the late Harold Faught, a longtime friend and volunteer for the university’s School of Engineering & Applied Science.
