Truby named Schmidt Science Fellow

Ryan Truby, Ph.D. ’17 (applied physics) has been named to the inaugural 2018-2019 class of Schmidt Science Fellows.

This post-doctoral program is focused on scientific leadership and interdisciplinary research, aiming to provide the next generation of innovators with the tools and opportunities to drive world-changing advances across the sciences and society.

Truby, inventor of the "Octobot" – the world's first autonomous robot comprised entirely of soft materials, wants to advance the development of additional soft robots, potentially transforming the field of robotics.
