Saklayen named top innovator

Nabiha Saklayen, Ph.D. ’17 (physics) has been named to the MIT Technology Review’s 2018 “Innovators Under 35 List.”

Saklayen, who completed her Ph.D. in the lab of Eric Mazur, Ballinski Professor of Physics and Applied Physics at SEAS, was honored for developing a novel intracellular delivery system. The innovation, which provides a way to edit genes using cheap lasers, led her to co-found a startup, Cellino Biotech, with fellow grad student Marinna Madrid, Ph.D. ’18 (applied physics).
