Brangwynne receives MacArthur Foundation Fellowship

Clifford Brangwynne, Ph.D. ’07 (applied physics) has been named to the 2018 class of MacArthur Foundation fellows.

Brangwynne is one of 25 individuals, seven of whom are Harvard alumni, to receive the fellowship, which honors “extraordinarily talented and creative individuals.” The $625,000 “no strings attached” grant is intended to encourage fellows to pursue their own creative, intellectual, or professional inclinations.

Brangwynne, Associate Professor in Chemical and Biological Engineering at Princeton University, was recognized for “using the principles of soft matter physics and cell biology to illuminate novel mechanisms of cellular compartmentalization that drive biological development.”
