Reappointments and Departures

Reappointments

The relevant Academic Appointments Manager will inform the faculty member and/or faculty administrator one month before a research appointment is due to expire if the appointee is a U.S. citizen, and two months before if the appointee is a non-U.S. citizen so that there will be time to process a visa extension, if necessary.

Paid appointments:

  • Faculty member/administrator sends reappointment letter to appointee and Academic Appointments Manager and indicates any change in salary / stipend.
  • The Academic Appointments Manager confirms any costing changes with the relevant Research Portfolio Manger.
  • The Academic Appointments Manager requests visa extension, if necessary, from HIO, and appointee completes new I-9 form, if necessary
  • The Academic Appointments Manager submits reappointment

  • The Academic Appointments Manager requests visa extension, if necessary, from HIO
