Parking information at and near the Cambridge campus

Public Parking

Public parking is available at metered spots on Oxford Street or Massachusetts Ave. Parking meters run from one to two hours, and will take quarters or payment via the ParkBoston appA further advisory: Cambridge parking violations start at $25.00, and meters are monitored closely by transportation officers. We do not reimburse visitors for parking tickets. 

Daily Parking Permits for Visitors

You may purchase a Daily Visitor Parking Permit online for Harvard garages on Oxford Street and Everett Street (weekdays only). You will need a printer to complete this transaction. When prompted, select:

Permits may also be purchased from Harvard University Parking Services at Smith Campus Center on the 8th Floor, 1350 Massachusetts Avenue and their offices open at 8:00am. For additional questions, please call (617) 496-7827.

Special Event Parking for Visitors (Invited Guests)

To obtain reserved parking for visitors or special events submit a request by email to event_parking@harvard.edu. In your message, include the name/description of event, time and date, how many vehicles are expected, preferred parking location, and contact information. 

You can also provide this information on a form available at Harvard University Parking Services. The events coordinator will respond to your request with information on space availability and parking rates. 

Please send your query about reserved parking at least two weeks before your event; requests sent without sufficient notice will be subject to additional charges.

Parking information at the Allston campus

More than 250 parking spots are adjacent to the Science and Engineering Complex and will be available for monthly and daily parking permit holders in the lots located at 114 Western Avenue and the 2 Hague Street.

Daily Parking Permits for Visitors

You may purchase a Daily Visitor Parking Permit online for the 114 Western Avenue or 2 Hague Street lots. Maps indicating the locations of other nearby Harvard lots can be found at http://www.transportation.harvard.edu/parking/garages-lots. You will need to bring a printed copy of your permit to display on your dashboard.
