How to Declare

Welcome to the Applied Math concentration! Below you'll find all the information you need to declare Applied Math as your concentration.

Declaration Paperwork

We look forward to helping you declare AM as your concentration.  You can declare AM at any time of year - current sophomores can declare starting at the beginning of their sophomore Fall.

Drop by any of the academic year advising office hours listed below for help in constructing your plan of study.  Meeting with a concentration advisor can be an important step in building a plan that meets the AM requirements.  Advising is available year round, with additional advising hours will be offered before Sophomore Declaration.  Out of term, write to to set up an advising meeting.  

After developing a plan of study, go to to enter, save, and then submit your plan of study for approval.  You only need to enter your 14 or 15 concentration courses in your plan.  Once your plan is approved on this site, you are ready to declare AM! 

To declare, you must first have an approved plan on  Once your plan is approved on the SEAS site, you will need to declare via the my.harvard tool, where we will register our approval with the Registrar.  The concentration is not notified by my.harvard when a Change of Concentration or Declaration of Concentration request is received, so if your request is not processed within a few days, please write
