Degree & Course Options

Applied physics is one of the most diverse areas of research at Harvard (and including activities in materials science).

Students explore “the ever more complex” world of quantum phenomena and study, or even manipulate, materials atom by atom. In addition, problems in dynamics, fluids, materials, solids, and thermodynamics are actively pursued.

Relevant courses cover multiple areas, including the intersections of applied physics, biology, chemistry, engineering sciences, geophysics, and physics.
